Weighted Decision Scorecard
Weighted Decision Scorecard
Big decisions often feel hard because you’re comparing apples to oranges… one option might be a better choice in one regard, while the other option is stronger for a different aspect.
Ditch the pros and cons list and take a more analytical approach, making use of a weighted system that measures each factor based on a prioritized scale.
How it works:
LIST ALL IMPORTANT FACTORS
Brainstorm all deciding factors (example for buying a house — location, price, year built, updated style/appliances, etc).
CHOOSE YOUR PRIORITIES
Decide which factors are the most important to you. Then rank each factor according to how well/poor it supports your goals & desires.
LET THE SPREADSHEET CALCULATE YOUR SCORE
Once you’ve ranked each factor, the spreadsheet will calculate a score for each option you’re comparing.
FEEL CONFIDENT IN YOUR CHOICE
Leave feeling at peace with your decision knowing it scored the highest according to your most important factors… keep the spreadsheet — and your reasons for your choice — at hand so you can rest assured in why you made that decision.
